My experience!

My experience posting on the blog has been very good. I think this has helped me to improve my grammar a lot. I do not have the best grammar on the world, I know that. Also I know that I do not have a high level grammar but at least I know that writing and reading newspapers, books, novels and different settings my English is going to improve.
It is a fact if you study you are going to improve, so the only thing we need to do is study, as simple as that. But to make this happen, we need to do the effort and study more that we usually do.
The blog has given me the responsibility of post every week, so the experience has been good because the blog has forced me to study. It sounds bad but is the truth, I am a lazy person and the responsibility of posting has helped me to study more.

Daniel's blog

The blog is called “El Blog del Deniel”. The name says a lot of his personality, a shy person (only when he wants to) but at the same time a very funny guy with a special personality.
I need to say that Daniel has improved his English a lot. When I first met him his English was not very fluent and the grammar was not the best too. He is my personal friend and that is why I know that he is always giving his best to do the homeworks, the readings and the different activities that we have on these class or in any other subject.

I like the way that he refers to the different topics because he tries to give us the idea of what he has in mind but he need to improve some aspects.
His blog is a little bit plain. He need to give it more color and a picture to each of the topics to have a better idea of what is he feeling or what is the idea of the post.
His grammar is very good, he has improved a lot that part of his English knowledge but he need to focus in how to create a better text, with connectors in it and with more defined paragraphs to catch the whole idea of what he is trying to say.

Finally I have to say that Daniel has improved in the majority of the topics and it is something very good to know for me because he is my friend and I know about the effort that he does to improve. However, he need to keep going on this way because is the only way to improve, studying more and more.

The class with Miss Beatriz

This is my favorite class, we are always giving opinions and learning in a very pedagogical way. I do not want to sound like a boot-licker but is the truth, we are always participating and doing new things. I think with the other teachers the classes are not very fluent, and in the class with you miss Beatriz I think that the most of my classmates participate in some how.

However, I know that we are lazy people; in my case I am always doing my homework on the dead line. I know that is a problem but I try to improve that part of my studies, that is why I am always reading books in English or asking about words and the meanings of the sentences, or even wanting to learn some slang words.

I need to say that we need to work a lot to improve our lazy behavior because the class is made it to interact with each other and not all of us have the attitude of being part of the class, or giving their opinions about some special point of view or about their doubts. It is boring when the same people are always talking and not everybody is participating, they are always rabbiting about the same things and not being good elements for the class.

To start with the post I have to say that Chile played a really good match. The players were really focused on winning. The defense played one of the best games that I've ever seen since Bielsa is coaching the team. They were all in a high level, giving a lot of trust to their fieldmates.

In the midfield the players were really tough and the players from Honduras were not at the level of facing them. For me this was the best point of the match because in the midfield is the key to winning, so if they can work, we have more chances of winning the match.

The forwards were pretty awesome. Valdivia was not playing in his position and he was one of the best players of the match. Sanchez and boseyaur were really important on the winning with their driblings and their abilityes to create a good show with the ball.

All of them were really concentrated because they are representing a whole country in the most important football competiton. So in conclution I can say that it was a great match, but we need to have a solid final score!

Schools kill creativity!

Schools nowadays are not giving the right direction to the education. One example is the art in the schools. It is the subject that students enjoy more than the other ones but for the school this is not one of the most important subjects to teach. Mathematics is one of the main subjects to teach for schools but is one of the most hated subjects. The same thing happens with History or Grammar.

This really creates a condition to the way that teachers use to work in schools because they need to follow the rules of the school and they are not allowed to apply their creativity. This affects the students too, because they can not work in the best conditions to develop their creativity.

It is really sad to see the way that people in general looks the pedagogy career as one of the worst things that you can do for living. In my opinion this is Goberment's fault because they are not giving the right answers to the problems that affects the education and these problems are to develop in a better way our creativity to not be systematic people.

Orlan is 63 years old and is famous because she did a lot of "strange" performances; however, can you define what is strange and what is normal nowadays?
I believe that most of people has a lot of prejudices with things that they do not know and understand, specially with shocking performances like the many who did Orlean.

She really wanted to cause a reaction on people who has prejudices on the different ways of showing art expressions. For me the most amazing living piece of art that she has performed was the surgery she did on her face to look like the Leonardo Da Vinci's Gioconda. This can say a lot but for me is that art is not only paitings, is that we can be art too.

This is why I agree her concept of art because her message was to break the barriers between sexes and genders, generations and artistic practices, to break all the prejudices that people has on art and things that they do no know in general.

The scream

The scream is an Edvard Munch piece of artwork that explains his feelings and thoughs. He suffered for a long time in his life panic attacks and agoraphobia. These are anxiety disorders and this is the reason of why he shows a men screamming in a desperated way.

The main figure of the painting feels overwhelmed, this is why this painting represents a lot of hard and strong feelings. You can notice the power of the mind because pannic attacks and phobias are caused for mind disorders. This is a big topic to develop because if you stop and think for a moment we never realize the power that mind have on us, if you are not mentally strong, mind can play tricks on you.

However, it is amazing how everyone has different perceptions and interpretations of this piece of artwork. A lot of people belives that the figure on the painting is srcreaming for pain, to be listened or for something in particular.
This is the reason of why this is my favorite piece of artwork because you can give it different interpretations. My interpretation to this piece of artwork is the same that Edvard Munch gives because I suffer the same type of disorders so I feel completely identified.

Educational problem!

Everybody knows there are teachers who are not well trained to teach, less to take care about students. In my personal case I had very good teachers, ofcourse there are exeptions, but I think that I've learned something from every one of them.
The good teachers gave me a lot of useful tools to work in what I'm studying now and the bad teachers are my example to not be like them.

The Inicia Test has destroyed the image of the teachers in our country because we got the worst results between 16 other countrys. This means a lot, we are not doing the things in a good way.
I think this problem has a lot to do with the educational system because if we left all the job to the private administration we are not going to have chances to regulate how the universitys and schools are teaching. We need to gave the responsability to the state because things need to be fair for all of us, rich and poor people.
This is why the test gave bad results, because there are Universitys who taught
the pedagogy carrer without the tools to teach, consequently, we are going to have bad teachers who teach the same bad things that their teachers has teach them. We need to increase the resources to the pedagogy carrers and not create bad solutions to the problem of the bad teachers like the government did, allowing engineers and other types of profesional people teach in schools.

The review of the site

The bbc website has a lot of exercises to improve our english, full of different topics and diferent things to read and write. I think this is the main reason of why this page is one of the most important websites on the net.

My experience with the website has been really successfuly, because I have been practicing a lot on the net and the bbc page has all the requirements to work and improve in the best way.

The grammar excercices on the website in my opinion are the best tool to improve; However,the listening excercices are really good too.
I think this is one of the most complete websites on the net, that's why I always use this website to practice.

When the earthquake happened I was in Laguna de Zapallar with my family,it was my first day with them after my back-packing trip.
I was sleeping at the time of the quake, it wasn't a nice wake up. At first I was a little bit desorientated, because I woke up beliving I was in Temuco sleeping under a truck but then my mother screamed to me and just in that moment I realized that we where in an earthquake.
I think I reacted in a good way, beacause I tried to be in calm for my two little sisters; however, the people staying in the next house started to scream "a tidal wave, a tidal wave, run for your lives" and it was the same thing with the cops, so we went to the hills and stayed there for two and a half hours. After that, when we came back to the house, I started to feel anxiety because we where in a house only twenty meters away from the beach and the ocean was really heavy.
At other day I started to feel really insecure because we haven't recived any notice of our relatives, but when their started to phone us the situation started to calm down; however, we stayed two more days after the quake there because the highway was in bad conditions.It was a really terrible experience!

Next test

I've been studying a lot of english this year because I always committed stupid mistakes and I want to stop with that and start to improve my grammar. This is one of the reasons of why I prefer to study for english classes than other subjects.
I think I'm not prepared for the test; however, I've been working on my mistakes and trying to study more than I usually do. I know that I need to believe in myself because when I do an exercise I'm always with the doubt if it is good or not, so that’s why I need to practice more. On the other hand, I know that I have the abilities to do a good job, that's why I want to do the effort and study a little bit more than I usually do.

A little about myself and what my expectations for this semester are!!

I'm Franco, a common guy who lives in Macul and plays rugby in the Univeridad de Chile team since I was eleven years old, now I'm twenty two. I love all kind of sports and I always try to go to all the matches, no matters where the match is, form Arica to Punta Arenas. I love heavy music and go to live performences. I live with my mom, my dad and my two little sisters.
My expectations for this semester are big, because I really want to improve my english, I think I'm going in the right way, at least I think so. This is why I'm going to put the best of me to talk and write better every day. I'm a lazy person, so that's why I know that I have to make the effort to study more and be a better student to become in a good teacher.
